I was impressed with the smooth functioning of the tool, when I barely pushed the variable speed trigger you couldn't even hear the gears moving and when I did this with the Hilti compact version it immediately made a loud buzzing sound. Although, I appreciate some other brands, but Hilti always seems to be superior.
